Club Saturday

Today was another "Club Saturday" and Bianca was really involved with her juice as this picture was taken. It is such a beautiful sight to see the little ones with food in their hands and having a good time. This sight has thrilled me for over 40 years and ceases to make me happy.

Update on Rev. Todd Lugli

Praise the Lord!
My heart is good and my arteries are clear! I really do believe it is a miracle! I am now left with a numb left arm and a sore neck and chest, but if God healed the hard stuff He definitely can deal with the rest! Please continue to pray but I am on my way out! I am leading a large and very important Medical & Ministry team to Haiti next Thursday 3/3/11

(I just received this email and I want to thank everyone of you for praying for Todd. He has a heart for Haiti and is doing a fabulous job representing "Royal Palm Children's Home" here in Haiti.)

For the kids

Mirlande has just returned after going to the market to pick up some goodies for the children when they come in from school. They are always hungry for a snack and cannot wait until supper.

Ricardo

Today is Ricardo's birthday. "Happy Birthday" Ricardo and yes, Poppa Bob has not forgotten you and you will get your present. Thanks for being such a good boy this past year.

We are sad

A phone call has changed our celebration into a time of sadness. Mommy was scheduled to come home tomorrow but she called and said that the doctor who had been treating her has said she cannot come at this time. Her blood pressure was too high and he was concerned about her heart. I know that God is able and I ask you to pray with us that she will get a release and be able to come home in a few days and this was only a short delay. God is our healer and we stand on His promises.

Mommy is coming home.

Tomorrow is the big day. Mommy is scheduled to return after being in the States visiting with her daughter and grandchildren. Everyone here is so excited but I know that those she is leaving hate to see her go.

Big Sandwich for a Little Girl

Will she eat it all? Never fear she will finish it off in short time. A fresh bread and peanut butter sandwich is hard to beat and the kids really do enjoy it. Of course, the juice is great too.

Lena and Acues

On December 2, 1973 the MS Starward sailed into the harbor at Port-au-Prince with my Father, Mother, a green Toyota Land Cruiser and myself. I had fulfilled a calling I had to come to Haiti. I was met at the dock by a Bro. and Sis. Hodges who told me my house was ready and that they had found a girl to work for me taking care of the house, shopping, etc. The next day Lena Toutou showed up and has been a worker and close friend ever since. Here she is shown with her husband, Acues, who is visiting us here in Haiti at the moment. They live in Miami, Florida and are blessed to have every of their children living for God.

"Club Saturday"

Yesterday was another "Club Saturday" with the kids having a great time. A special treat of juice, peanut butter and bread was served to each one. Kids from all around attend to have a good time and hear Bible stories.

Luke 13:24 KJV

DO YOU GO TO A CHURCH AND IF YOU DO THEN WHY?

To put it plain and simple so anyone can understand, there is only one of two reasons why people go to church. One is PREFERENCE and the other is CONVICTION. The sad part is that "many" churchgoers* fall in the former category and not the latter.

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” Luke 13:24

3 More people I truly love

Here are three more people whom I love with all my heart. They are my Son Robert who is Pastor of two churches in California, Violine who has been with me for over 30 years and Marvick who is now in Atlanta, GA attending school. My but I miss them. This picture was taken in 2006 and Marvick has grown a lot.

Happy Birthday

Velouse, or Vicki as most people know her, is Mommy and Poppy's daughter. She is also head of our local school. She has been with me since he was a little girl and I always referred to her as "my little model." Being not only beautiful but talented as well she is loved by everyone. Poppa Bob loves her dearly and wants to wish her a "Happy Birthday" today, Friday the 18th.

My View

Though it was a hazy day yesterday when this picture was taken you can yet see the magnificent view that I have from my room. I am so happy that God has made it possible I can live my life here in such a beautiful place. Sure we don't have Walmart but when was the last time you saw such a view from their parking lot

Mangoes

This morning I thought I would share with you another picture of "The Upper Room" that I now call my home. I wanted you to notice the mangoes hanging on the tree in the foreground. They will soon be ripe and when they are they won't last long as the kids will see to that.

Telephone

In the past it was almost impossible to reach me by phone but now the situation is much better. You can call me here in Haiti at (916) 226-4091. The charges to your phone is the same as making a call to California. If you are in area code (916) it is just a local call. Our time here is the same as Eastern Standard Time. We are keeping our telephone on 24/7. The number I gave you is my private number. The number for the main house is (916) 265-0479. I am usually awake by 7:00 a.m. and usually go to bed around 10:00 p.m. so give me a call at your convenience. I would be happy to hear from you,.

Josiat

Recently in the article "Life Changing Experience" I mentioned the young lady next door by the name of Mirlande. Anyway, this is her baby boy Josiat. I thought I would share this with you as she is so proud of him, he being her only son.

Mommy

Too much can never be said about "Mommy." For over 30 years she has been by my side and proved to be one of the most precious people God ever placed on this earth. Through the highs and lows she has always remained steady in her faith. When it looked like cancer would claim her, as it did her mother, we claimed deliverance and God has brought her through. This morning I received a call from her wishing me a Happy Valentine's Day. She is in Atlanta visiting with her daughter and grandchildren. She told me she was so homesick for Haiti and the children of our home that her trip would be cut short and she would be back within a few days. All I can say is, "Hurry home Mommy, we all love and miss you so much."

Church Women

Not too long ago we were doing some construction and needed some concrete blocks that were down at the bottom of the hill. All the guys were busy but lo and behold the women of the Church chipped in and began carrying blocks up the hill on top of their heads. Before long the construction was able to continue. I just had to share this with everyone as I am so proud of the "Church Women" we have here at "The First Pentecostal Church of Fond Doux."

My Sunday Dinner

I just wanted to share with you my evening meal here in Haiti. It consists of Goat, Fried Plantains, and Pickles, which is a spicy Haitian Cole Slaw. It sure was good.

Ignorance and Apathy

A preacher had been preaching with great fervor about how people in our churches today hardly ever read their Bible and seemed not really concerned about the time in which we are living. He said, “The trouble with people today is ignorance and apathy.” He turned to one of his deacons and said, “Isn’t that right?,” to which the deacon replied, “I don’t know and I don’t care.”

Club Saturday

Today is “Club Saturday” or that is the name the kids have given it. It is a special time that the kids of the area can get together, play, hear Bible stories, eat and just have a good time. They look forward to it each Saturday. The year before the earthquake hit we had feed over 13,000 little kids in our “Club Saturday” and “School Feeding Canteen.” This is in addition to the Children we feed in our home each day. Since the earthquake schools can no longer operate in a building but only under a tent or canopy.

Gas Refrigerator

Please help me pray for a gas refrigerator. Since we have no electricity, except when the generator is running, food cannot keep due to the "tropical" heat. I have been sick twice this month from eating food that had not been kept cold.

My Mother

Today my mind goes back to the most precious person I can remember. It is the birthday of my Mother, whom if she were still alive, would be 106 years old today. I still have fond memories of her and look forward the day I will see her once again. That will be a "glad reunion day."

Renerlande

This is Poppa Bob's little sweetheart. She is always smiling and is my little helper. The picture here was taken after she had just been in a wedding. Her favorite food is cornflakes. I am always happy when she and the other children come in from school and are hungry. I try to keep different snacks on hand that will hold them over till dinnertime. They make my day everyday. Only God knows how much I love my little kids.

"The Upper Room"

This is the place that is "Home Sweet Home" for me. I sure do thank the Lord for His blessings.

My Room

I finally got moved into my "Upper Room" that was built over the generator house. I sure do like it. It is small but very cool and I can see out every direction. Thank the Lord
