Birthday

Today Lindaelle, Baby as we all know her, turns 12. We have had her since she was a very little girl. She comes from a large family who were not able to care for all of the Children. She is a talented little musician and singer. Violine is baking her a cake and we will all celebrate.

Thought for the day.

After the freezer episode, I turn to Will Rogers for the "Thought for the day." He once said, "Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment."

Green & Red Gold..

If you love Jalapeno peppers like I do then you will understand what I am about to say. For the past 3 years I haven't had one and without them nothing tasted right. However, not too long ago I had some seeds sent from the States. Well, it has taken some time but now I have some. My pepper plants by the side of my little room had produced blossoms but they keep falling off. Jordanny grew these in a different area. Deborah from California sent me the following information for which I am grateful. " The sunset western garden book says you should feed once or twice with commercial fertilizer after plants become established, before blossoms set. I think you can use coffee grinds to enrich the soil . Try to make a compost bin for veg. and fruit scraps to enrich the soil at a later date." Thanks Deborah.

Stupid

Well, I finally made it through the night with what I did yesterday. I was very down this morning until I got an email from Angela, who is an attorney, in Kentucky. After she read about what a stupid thing I did she was kind enough to write these words to me and I quote, " Must be that the Lord is going to send you a bigger freezer and a refrigerator." You do not know what those words meant to me. Yes, God is able to give us a refrigerator and a freezer. I believe it.

Kicking Yourself

Did you ever feel like kicking yourself? I guess that is a good term for how I feel right now but of course it is an impossibility. I shall have to get someone to do it for me and believe me at the moment I have volunteers lined up who are more than happy to accommodate me. . Our refrigerator doesn't work but we had a tiny freezer that we kept things cold in. Well, anyway everybody was going to the freezer to get a glass of cold water and it was open almost as much as it was closed. I came up with the brilliant idea to put a small hasp and lock at the top so the door couldn't be opened unless you used a key. In drilling the tiny hole to put the screws I punctured a gas line that ran around the top and let all of the gas out. Now there is no gas to charge the freezer hence no freezer thanks to yours truly. I should have stayed in bed because I caused more trouble today that what I was worth.

This is my room

This 7 x 14 room is all mine. I have my bed, my desk, my computer, my satellite hook-up and just about everything else in it. Notice my Jalapeno Pepper Plants outside my window. The problem is that the blossoms keep dropping off without forming any peppers. HELP If anyone know what to do please let me know. I heard that Blossom Set Spray was good but of course we do not have any here in Haiti.
